Taipei South Town Art Festival 2014
The Taipei South Town Art Festival 2014 was organized by the GACC, Taiwan’s foremost cultural think tank. The “South Town” refers to the area centered around Taipei City. During Japan’s colonial rule of Taiwan, this area was where Japanese officials resided. The purpose of holding an art exhibition in this district was to create the concept of an “art district” through ten art-related venues, aiming to blend traditional and modern elements.
In the design, the concept of radial perspective was employed, viewing the city from the south’s perspective, and incorporating ink painting and geometric shapes to represent the area’s compatibility with both tradition and modernity.
