Calling a Deer a Horse
Reflecting media hegemony culture:
The image on the billboard is a deer, but the main headline says it’s a horse. This seemingly mismatched advertisement arouses curiosity in viewers about what the billboard is advertising. Upon closer inspection of the subtitle, “The space I bought, I say it’s whatever it is – ken-tsai Lee,” the message becomes clear. This seemingly assertive and distorted information aims to convey the idea that if you own the media, you can make black appear as white. This creative concept is primarily a satire of Taiwan’s news media, which should report facts, but is often criticized by the public as a manufacturing industry.
